Replace your melted ignition switch connector and wiring to regain proper functions of the “load reduction relay” circuits (horn, HVAC motor, turn signals, low beams and more). These parts use properly sized wiring unlike cheap pigtails and parts from ebay, Amazon, etc which will just cause melted wiring again due to being drastically too small gauge. Common issues on these cars. Original switches are sometimes fine but while in there fixing the connector and melted wire it doesn’t hurt to replace the switch too if wanting added piece of mind. I’ve put together 4 different kit options:
Basic Kit: New connector, 2 new wires with heat shrink butt connectors (usually only 1 wire is melted), and terminal extraction tool to transfer your current good wires into the new connector.
Basic Kit and Switch: Connector, 2 wires with heat shrink butt connectors, terminal extraction tool and new switch.
Full Pigtail Kit: Connector, replacement wires for all pins, and heat shrink butt connectors.
