MK4 Golf/Jetta/Beetle and B5/B5.5 Passat auto headlight switch retrofit kit that are further modified for proper switch backlighting, DRL pin removed, rear fog light indicator LED added, and generic wiring plug replaced with correct one with wiring wrapped in OEM fabric tape. These style modules are more robust and won’t get stuck in the dash vent or have incorrect backlighting behavior like the cheaper “all in one” style auto switches on the market and these allow for use of other factory 10 pin switches. Features adjustable auto headlight operation and also coming/leaving home (lights come on at night when turning car off or unlocking it with remote). Plug and play, just need to attach light sensor so it sees out the front window.
If switch is left in auto position and coming home is active after key off, headlight on chime will still sound as if headlights were left on. This will not cause any issues as headlights will turn off once coming home timer runs down but this chime can be disabled on 2002+ cars by removing wires 26 and 27 from the blue cluster connector.
Will not fit PQ35 Beetle, MK6 Jetta (which used MK4 style headlight switches) or W8 Passats.
